Fundamentally, the story is about the journey of two men, Karl Jurak and J.F. Robert Bolduc.  As a young scientist, athletic Karl Jurak was an avid mountain climber. In 1922, he put his talent and knowledge of plants into creating a health supplement, known today as Km®, that would support his active lifestyle and safeguard him against those inevitable moments of weakness that happen on occasion in the midst of great physical and mental stress. Karl spent 60 years of his life offering this supplement to family and friends living up to his personal motto of “be a friend indeed to a friend in need.” This extraordinary man truly exemplified the concept of a great humanitarian. In 1982, J.F. Robert Bolduc, Matol’s Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, had the privilege of meeting Karl. Robert took his inspiration from Karl’s personal motto and created the original “Give and Receive” philosophy which guides us in our Matol quest.
